This series offers a compassionate, balanced, respectful, and non-hostile examination of the Word of Faith ministry doctrine, its biblical foundations, its historical development, and the various ways it has been portrayed or misunderstood in Christian media, culture and conversation.

It seeks to distinguish between:

  • genuine biblical faith,

  • faith as a lifestyle of abiding relationship with Christ,

  • and the exaggerated or distorted perceptions of “prosperity” that have caused confusion and criticism.

This is a healing, clarifying, NON-accusatory and NON-political study.

Purpose of This Series

This study exists to:

  • clarify the revelation behind “word of faith”

  • separate real faith from hype

  • distinguish genuine biblical foundations from excess

  • heal wounded perspectives

  • detoxify mis-teachings

  • reveal the relational nature of faith

  • address media misconceptions

  • encourage humility, discernment and balance

  • protect against extremes on both sides

  • comfort those who feel discouraged, disillusioned or ashamed

This is compassionate review,
